The Greater Good provides used goods in a department store-like experience for our value-conscious shoppers. We sell quality used clothing and household goods at affordable prices, accept donations of household items providing an environmentally friendly alternative to the landfill for people moving, downsizing or de-cluttering and offers community minded individuals volunteer opportunities to give back.

Our Community Connections program ensures that what we take in goes right back into programs and organizations that make our area a better place to be.

“Honestly, I have never met such a fantastic group of people that are so energetic and involved with the community, continually raising the bar for community sponsorship and living the value of ‘the greater good’. Thank you for absolutely everything you guys do, tremendous job!”

Whether it’s sorting, pricing or stocking shelves, volunteers are vital in helping The Greater Good make a difference in the community. We are always looking for new volunteers to join our team. Volunteering can help build your resume, help give back to the community, build friendships and support the work of TGG. There are many reasons to volunteer with us!

There are a variety of volunteer positions to choose from. You can volunteer for a few hours each week or be a full-time volunteer. It is up to you to decide how you want to help and how much time you have to offer.

We are open 7 days a week from 9:30 am – 5:30 pm (Monday – Friday), 9:30 am – 5:00 pm Saturday and 12 pm – 5:00 pm (Sunday). We are always looking for volunteers to work between 2 – 4 hour shifts either on the weekdays or the weekends. We accept applications from High school and University students, retirees, new immigrants, or any adult interested in supporting and giving back to our community.

Students, are you looking for a rewarding way to get all of your volunteer credits done for graduation? We can help.

What will I be doing?

Volunteer opportunities are varied and there are many ways to be involved! Some of the ways you can help are:

  • Receiving donations
  • Sorting clothes and pricing items
  • In-store customer service
  • Building and designing displays
  • Helping with special events
